GALLATIN, Tenn. – Many in the Gallatin community are remembering the life of Jules Brazil whose life ended tragically last week after an accident.

Brazil announced the local football games on the radio for decades. Fans paused Friday night to remember him. Brazil's son, Chris Brazil, shared stories of how his father touched more lives than his family could ever imagine.

Brazil loved football, and since the early 80s most people knew him as one of the voices of the Gallatin Green Wave, which has broadcasted color commentary for nearly 30 years.

"It was a small AM station in Gallatin so if you weren't within probably 30 miles of Gallatin you didn't hear it," said Brazil.

Last week, Brazil was on his way just to watch Gallatin play when he got hit by a car while crossing the street. He died hours later. One of Brazil's own friends was behind the wheel.

"We pray for that family more than anything because we got closure. He's got to live with that every day," said Brazil.

Friday night, as Gallatin took on Mount Juliet they honored the man who never said no to anyone in need.

"All I have to do is look up at that window where he stood all those times and I'll see him giving me the thumbs up," added Brazil.

Even if "Mr. Green Wave" wasn't watching the game from the press box, his family knows he was watching from a better seat.
