Officials Investigating Fatal Trigg Co. Crash

Posted: Updated:

CADIZ, Ky. – Investigators were looking to determine the cause of a fatal crash on Interstate 24 in Trigg County, Kentucky.

Officials with the Kentucky State Police said the crash occurred just after 4:00 a.m. Saturday on I-24 near mile marker 62, about five miles from Cadiz.

Investigators said 60-year-old James Davis, of Laurel, Mississippi, was killed when the tractor trailer he was driving somehow crossed the median into westbound lanes of the interstate. They said 67-year-old Charles Carr, of Naples, Florida, was injured when he was unable to avoid the collision and struck the semi.

Troopers said Carr was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.

It was not known whether or not Davis was wearing his seatbelt.
