Police Investigating Two South Nashville Shootings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police said they are investigating two unrelated shootings in south Nashville.

Detectives with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said the first shooting occurred just before 3 a.m. in the rear parking lot of Club Ciroc on Murfreesboro Road. Police said the victim was getting into his car when the suspect began shooting at him. They said the victim was shot in the leg and the suspect fled on foot.

Officers later caught the suspect and he was arrested. The victim was taken to an area hospital and was expected to recover from his injuries.

Police said the second shooting happened one hour later. They said a 19-year-old male was walking on the street when two men in a black car pulled alongside him. He told police the men asked where he was going and he said he was walking home. According to police, the passenger got out of the car and fired four shots at the victim, striking him once in the calf.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where police said he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they also recovered four shell casings after one round of bullets was fired and struck a house located on Cedarmont Drive. No one in the house was injured.

Both shootings were still under investigation. Police said the shootings did not appear to be related.
