Two Arrested In Smith County Murder Case

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A woman and her boyfriend have been arrested in connection with a murder in Smith County.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said 38-year-old Melinda Bush and her 34-year-old boyfriend, Stephone Berry, both of Pleasant Shade, Tennessee, have been arrested and charged with first degree murder.

The TBI said they were accused of killing 29-year-old Dawn Duke of Carthage, Tennessee.

Investigators said the victim's body was discovered Friday in the 200 block of Thomas Ridge Road in Smith County. They said the victim sustained multiple stab wounds.

The TBI said the two suspects were reportedly friends with the victim.

Both Bush and Berry have been booked into the Smith County Jail.

No other details about the case were immediately known.
