Kentucky Teen Killed In Skateboard Collision With Car

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Kentucky teenager was killed in Christian County when a driver backed into him while he was sitting on his skateboard.

Officials with the Hopkinsville Police Department said 16-year-old Charley Coker was killed when a driver backed into him. They said the incident happened Sunday in the parking lot of 700 Country Club Lane in Hopkinsville.

Investigators said the victim was sitting on his skateboard when the driver backed into him. They said the driver of the vehicle told police he drove to the end of the parking lot to speak to a friend. He told police he put his car in reverse and tried to hit the brakes but the vehicle did not stop.

Police were still investigating the incident.
