Gas Line Rupture Prompts Evacuation In Franklin

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – A gas line rupture prompted an evacuation of nearby businesses in Franklin near Murfreesboro Road and Carothers Parkway.

Officials said a minivan hit a gas valve at Carothers Auto Repair, causing the gas leak around 2 p.m. Atmos Energy responded and capped the gas valve.

Nearby businesses returned to their buildings after the situation was controlled.

Crews made repairs by 5:00 Tuesday night.
