Suspected Home Burglar Caught By Police While Smoking Pot In Park

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man wanted on outstanding warrants for burglary was arrested after police found him smoking marijuana in a Nashville park.

Officers spotted 21-year-old Josue Vargas-Catalan sitting in a car with three young people at William A. Pitts Park. An affidavit said all four were smoking what appeared to be marijuana.

When officers ran Vargas-Catalan's information, they found he had two outstanding warrants for breaking into a home in April.

He allegedly stole an Xbox and police were able to track the gaming system to a pawn shop on Murfreesboro Road.

Vargas-Catalan was booked into the Metro Jail on burglary and contributing to the delinquency of minors.
