NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A South Nashville home is getting a makeover that will have a life-changing impact for the owners.

Fahim Roozbahan, 18, has Cerebral Palsy, and the home where he lives with his parents isn't very wheelchair accessible. Now, the Franklin-based non-profit organization Tucker's House is stepping up to help.

Tucker's House, along with a crew from Turner Construction Company, are working to build a new ramp on the outside of the home, as well as a porch swing that Fahim can use.

"This means he will be able to get off the bus, and come up here himself," said Sunny Rosanbalm, President and Founder of Tucker's House.  "He can go up that ramp, and into his house, which he's never been able to do on his own."

Tucker's House has taken on 21 other similar projects across Middle Tennessee.  Rosanbalm started the organization in 2009, in honor of her disabled grandson Tucker. She said the goal is to help families of children with disabilities by making their homes safe and wheelchair accessible.

"Every single time I finish one of these projects, I know exactly why I'm doing this," said Rosanbalm.  "Tt just makes a huge difference in their life."

This is the second time Tucker's House has helped the Roozbahan family. In 2011, they remodeled the bathroom to make the shower and sink more accessible for Fahim.

Crews from Turner Construction Company said they were happy to help with this latest project.  They donated their time, and contributed supplies.  Nashville Lumber pitched in some of the materials, as well.

"It has a big  impact on us and especially the guys out here working ," said Bob Grimes, Manager of Business Development for Turner Construction Company.  " This is a great day for them.  It's their best day of work."

Grimes said work is scheduled to wrap up Thursday.  Tucker's House has six other similar projects in the works across the area.
