NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Nashville man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend and her three-year-old daughter in Memphis, and then robbing the girlfriend at gunpoint on the way to Nashville.

Police charged 23-year-old Quenton T. Burroughs with two counts of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Burroughs' 23-year-old girlfriend told police that he came to her home in Memphis Friday night and asked her to go with him to Nashville, where he lives. She initially agreed. When they were on the road, she said Burroughs became violent, assaulted her, and then refused to let her and her daughter go.

At one point, she told police he took her debit card at gunpoint to refuel the car.

The victim said she was able to escape when he left her and her daughter at his apartment. She ran and called her mother, who drove from Memphis to Nashville and helped flag down a Metro Police officer around 11:20 a.m. Saturday on Broadway.

Burroughs was arrested Wednesday as he returned to his apartment. He was held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
