GALLATIN, Tenn. - RivergateMall has been welcoming trick-or-treaters for Halloween for years. This year is especially welcome because of the threat of severe weather.

In Gallatin, children donned their costumes and filled the square early Thursday afternoon. The rain didn't stop them or stop business employees from handing out candy.

This too is an annual tradition and especially convenient for the younger kids. Parents said there's no such thing as postponing Halloween, after all it's a holiday they've spent weeks preparing for.

"We like it. We make a pretty big deal out of it. Fixed pumpkin pie last night and carved jack-o-lanterns," one parent said.
