Man Shot During Argument Over Money In North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was shot during an argument over money in a parking lot in north Nashville on Friday morning.

Police said 54-year-old Michael Pope told them he was sitting in the parking lot on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Boulevard around 10:30 a.m. when 39-year-old Courtney Richardson approached him and demanded money he claimed Pope owed him

When Pope refused, Richardson allegedly shot him.

Pope was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-critical injuries. 

Richardson was taken into custody, and charged with attempted criminal homicide. Police said he has previous convictions for drug possession, assault, and gambling.
