Woodbury Fire Investigation Continues

WOODBURY, Tenn. - The investigation into what caused a major fire in Woodbury continued on Monday.

From Sky5 HD, it was visible to see just how massive the Woodbury fire was Friday night.

Fire crews from four different departments (Manchester, Lascassas, Walter Hill and Summitville) joined the fight helping the Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire Chief Bill Johnson said his department does not have a 75-foot ladder truck big enough to battle fires like this, so calling on fire departments 20 minutes or more away is their only option.

Johnson said those minutes make a huge difference in putting out a fire and watching the fire destroy a structure.

Since Friday the fire chief says he has spoken to the mayor about purchasing a 75 foot ladder truck, but the cost-- which could run upwards to $,000,000, makes it tough.

"I think we can buy one (used) that will suit us for around $100,000 - $200,000, maybe; I don't know for sure. I am going to start looking around and get some pricing on it," said Johnson.

Monday afternoon investigators were out looking into what may have caused the fire.

Fire fighters said on Friday the cause could have been from electrical wiring.
