Giles County Deputy, Others Injured In Nashville Crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Giles County Sheriff's deputy and several others were injured in a crash in Nashville on Thursday night.

The deputy from Giles County was in his patrol car when it collided with a van around 8 p.m. on the 2600 block of Charlotte Avenue.

Metro police said the deputy was pinned in his cruiser for a short time. He was extricated, and was taken to St. Thomas Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

His cruiser was totaled.

Some of the passengers in the van were also taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center with minor injuries, but the exact number was not released.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
