Woman Killed In Ashland City House Fire

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. – Officials said they are investigating a fatal house fire in Cheatham County.

Police said a woman was killed early Saturday morning in a house fire located on Hill Road in Ashland City. They said they arrived on the scene around 1:30 a.m. and found the home fully engulfed in flames.

Officials said a man was also inside the home at the time of the fire but was able to make it out alive. They said he sustained second degree burns.

First responders said they attempted to rescue the woman inside the home, but they were driven back by the flames.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
