Citizens Protest Proposed Green Hills High-Rise

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Concerned citizens rallied in Green Hills to protest a proposed high-rise building.

Many residents lined the streets in Green Hills Saturday to protest the proposed building. If plans remain unchanged, it would become the tallest building in the area.

After several residents voiced their concerns, the developer, Southern Land, tweaked the design of the tower and reduced it from 22 to 16 stories. Despite the change, many with the Green Hills Neighborhood Association still have not been sold on the project.

Concerned citizens in Green Hills rallied today in protest of a proposed high-rise building.

"The density that this project brings to the area, we don't feel like the infrastructure supports that and until the infrastructure is corrected, I don't feel like we need this kind of project built here," said protestor Bartley McGehee.

Developers have offered to put in more sidewalks and traffic lights in order to help alleviate traffic congestion
