Officials Investigating Fatal Ashland City Fire

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. – Officials said they are now investigating a fatal house fire in Cheatham County that killed a woman and injured her son.

The Tennessee Bomb and Arson unit has been called in to investigate the fire which occurred at a home on Hill Road, just off of Old Hydes Ferry Road in Ashland City. The fire broke out early Saturday morning.

Investigators said first responders arrived on the scene and found a man outside of the burning home. They said he told them a woman was still inside the burning house. First responders said they attempted to rescue the woman but were driven back by the flames.

The man reportedly suffered second degree burns as a result of the blaze.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
