Man Dies After Falling From Balcony At Downtown Bar

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified the man who died after falling from the third floor of a bar in downtown Nashville on Sunday evening.

Metro Police said 23-year-old Dmitriy Sirota, of Newton Lower Falls, Massachusetts, died after falling onto the sidewalk below the Honky Tonk Central Bar on Broadway around 6:30 p.m.

Witnesses told police Sirota was drinking at the bar when he appeared to hop over the railing of the third floor.

He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Foul play was not suspected.

The Metro Codes Department said that Honky Tonk Central meets all safety requirements. In fact, Metro Codes said the establishment exceeds the railing height requirements by at least 2.5 inches on its second and third levels.
