NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man allegedly stabbed his roommate with a samurai sword during an argument over money, according to police.

A police affidavit said 38-year-old Chad Wilkerson told police he pulled out the weapon in an attempt to scare his roommate during a verbal argument at the home on Hewlett Court on Sunday.

Wilkerson told police his roommate came toward him, and he stabbed him. The affidavit said the blade went into "the victim's stomach and out his back."

The victim was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, but his injuries were considered to be non-life threatening

Wilkerson also suffered an injury from the sword, and was questioned at the hospital while being treated for his injuries. He told police he did not mean to hurt his roommate, but he was later arrested on charged of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His bond was set at $100,000. Police said Wilkerson also had an outstanding warrant.
