NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A traffic stop in Bellevue ended with a man in jail and the seizure of 10.5 pounds of marijuana.

A Metro Nashville Police officer stopped a white SUV for traveling 80 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 40 east near Bellevue on Monday morning.

The front seat passenger and renter of the SUV, Anthony Reeves, 41, of Cincinnati, told the officer that he had been boxing in Irvine, Texas.

A consented search of the rear cargo area found seven duct taped packages of marijuana inside a suitcase.

Reeves admitted that the drugs belonged to him, according to police. He was charged with possession of marijuana for resale.

He was held in lieu of $25,000 bond.
