American Legion Holds Meeting On Health Care

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The American Legion is hosting a town hall meeting in Nashville for veterans to discuss the Department of Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System.

The Legion's System Worth Saving Task Force is holding the meeting as part of an effort to evaluate the quality of health care that veterans receive. While in Nashville, task force members will visit the VA medical center to interview patients, staff and administrators.

According to a news release, the task force travels to about 15 VA medical centers each year as part of its evaluation effort. The group submits an annual report to Congress, the White House and senior VA leadership.

The Nashville meeting takes place at 7 p.m. CST Wednesday at American Legion Post 88, located at 2864 Elm Hill Pike.
