NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 30-year-old man from Columbia was killed after his truck overturned off the side of Interstate 65 north in south Nashville on Tuesday morning.

Metro Police said Barry Jenkins Jr. was traveling north on I-65 in a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck when, for unknown reasons, he left the roadway, and the truck collided with several trees

The crash happened around 6:20 a.m. at mile marker 78, just south of Harding Place.

Jenkins, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.
Police said there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.

The roadways were slick from rain and a slushy mix, but it was unclear if that contributed to the crash.
