Murfreesboro Officers Honored With Medals Of Valor

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Quite an honor Tuesday for two brave Murfreesboro police officers and a helpful citizen.

Chief Glenn Chrisman awarded the Medal of Valor to officers Travis Ledford and Nathan Frost, along with a Citizens Support Award for James Haynes who helped the officers at the scene of an emergency.

They all were honored for quick action in pulling a man from a burning vehicle earlier this year. One officer struggled to release the seatbelt while the other used an extinguisher to put out the flames.

The three men then carried the victim to safety.

"The passenger would have most certainly died had it not been for the heroic actions of Officers Ledford and Frost, assisted by Mr. Haynes," said Chief Chrisman. "These are three American heroes."
