SPRING HILL, Tenn. – A man was found dead and a woman was injured at a Spring Hill home early Wednesday morning. The married couple has been identified as Robert and Sue Land. They are in their 60s, according to police.

Spring Hill Police said the woman called 911 around 4:15 a.m. to ask for help at the home on the 4000 block of Fremantle Circle in the Cherry Grove Subdivision.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man deceased from an apparent gunshot wound in the master bedroom. The woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was listed in critical condition.

A gun was found inside the home, but police could not immediately confirm if it was the firearm used in the shootings.

Police said they have not ruled out a search for an active shooter, but their investigation was currently focused at the home. They say there were no signs of forced entry.

Neighbors and friends describe the couple as loving and kind. They say there were no signs of trouble in their marriage, and they appeared to adore each other.
