Posted: Updated:

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – A high school in Bedford County was placed on lockdown Friday morning after a prank call about a gunman on campus.

Sheriff Randall Boyce said traced the phone number used to place the call, which prompted the lockdown at Shelbyville Central High School.

A student was taken into custody for questioning, but it was unclear if he made the call.

There was an increased police presence at the school, but there was no threat.
