Tennessee Signs 4 Players To Letters Of Intent

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee has signed guards Larry Austin and Jordan Cornish and forwards Phil Cofer and CJ Turman to letters of intent.

The university announced the signings Thursday.

Austin is a 6-foot-1 guard from Lamphier High School in Springfield, Ill. Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin described him as a "natural playmaker."

Cornish is a 6-4 guard from Brother Martin in New Orleans. Martin said Cornish "plays with a scorer's mentality."

Cofer is the son of Mike Cofer, who played football at Tennessee from 1979-82 and had a 10-year career with the Detroit Lions. Cofer is a 6-8 forward from Whitewater High in Fayetteville, Ga.

Turman is a 6-8 forward from Morgan County High in Madison, Ga. Martin called him an "inside presence who can overpower opponents."
