DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. – The body of a missing Montgomery County boater has been found along the Cumberland River.

A spokesman for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said the body of 55-year-old Kenneth Dean Elliott, of Clarksville, was recovered around 6 a.m. Saturday.

Officials said Elliot launched his boat to fish near the Cheatham Dam on the Cumberland River the morning of November 11. His family notified police when he did not return home that evening. Rescue crews started looking for him around 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.

Dickson County EMA said Elliot's boat was later found washed ashore on the Dickson County side of the creek.

TWRA Officials said the body was found not far from where the victim disappeared.

The body has been sent to the Office of the Medical Examiner to determine a cause of death.
