NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Metro Nashville Police officer was injured after being assaulted by an alleged drunk suspect in Madison.

Brandon Moyers was charged with aggravated assault on an officer.

Police said they got a call that the 19-year-old was urinating in public. When a Madison precinct officer responded to North Gallatin Pike at Anderson Lane around 11 p.m. Tuesday, he said Moyers appeared intoxicated.

While the officer was frisking him, Moyers allegedly head butted him, cutting his eye.

The officer used his Taser on Moyers, and placed him under arrest before going to the hospital for stitches.

He has since been released from Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The officer's name was not released.
