Person Of Interest Wanted In Murfreesboro Robbery, Kidnapping

Posted: Updated:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro want to identify a person of interest in the robbery and kidnapping of a college student earlier this week.

A police report said the victim called police around 4:30 p.m. Monday to report that two men had approached him in the parking lot of his apartment complex on Lascassas Pike on Sunday night.

They had guns, and demanded his wallet. When they found there was no money inside, he told police that they forced him to drive to an ATM at a bank on Greenland Drive and withdraw $500.

He then drove them back to his apartment complex, where they threatened him if he notified police. They also took the victim's iPhone.

The men fled on foot towards Old Lascassas.

Police said both men were wearing some type of overalls with a stripe across the chest under the jacket. Police believe one of them was caught on surveillance outside the ATM, while the other was not.

Murfreesboro detectives believe the case is related to a similar robbery last week where a woman told police that two men, wearing all black and armed with handguns, approached her in the same apartment complex parking lot. A police report states they told her she would be "dead" if she made any noise.

She said they made her empty her pockets, and stole $100 cash, her purse, and her cell phone.
