Pregnant Woman Rescued From Car After Crash

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Tenn. – A pregnant woman had to be rescued from her vehicle after a crash near the Davidson/Rutherford County line early Thursday morning.

Emergency responders were called to Old Hickory Boulevard near the off ramp from Interstate 24 eastbound around 5:15 a.m.

Police said the 20-year-old woman driving the car was exiting Interstate 24 east onto Old Hickory Boulevard when she was t-boned by a pickup truck. The collision sent her vehicle 20-30 yards down the roadway.

The woman, who is pregnant, was trapped under the steering wheel of her car. Nashville Firefighters were able to quickly get the woman out of the vehicle. She was taken to Skyline Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck told police he had a flashing yellow stop light when he crossed the intersection, but police said that light does not flash.

It was unclear if any charges would be filed.

No identities were released.
