Police: Child Porn Found On Sex Offender's Computer

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A registered sex offender on probation was arrested after child pornography was allegedly found on his computer during a home inspection.

Police charged 53-year-old Bruce Hawkins with sexual exploitation of a minor.

Two workers for the department of Probation and Parole went to Hawkins' home on Truett Avenue on Thursday for a home inspection as part of his probation. While searching a computer, they found several videos, including one of a young girl in a sexual situation with an adult male.

When they asked Hawkins about the videos, he first said he thought he'd deleted the videos.

During an interview following his arrest, Hawkins denied knowledge of the videos, but admitted he had done Internet searches for sexual material with the term "underage."

His bond was set at $76,000.

Hawkins' criminal history showed he was sentenced to probation following his guilty plea to sexual battery by an authority figure earlier this year. He is listed on the TBI's sex offender registry as violent.
