KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - University of Tennessee fraternities have accumulated a long list of infractions so far this semester.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported the university by last week had sanctioned six fraternities seven times for 19 violations. The newspaper reports it is the longest list of infractions in at least five years.

Documents UT released to the newspaper show that the infractions included drugs and alcohol, hazing, weapons and breaking the law.

UT officials said they aren't sure whether the increase is due to more misbehavior or an increase in police patrols.

Fraternities agreed last year to pay for off-duty officers to patrol Fraternity Park. The move came after a fraternity brother was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.
