Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A casting call for the upcoming "Star Wars" film was held Sunday in Nashville.

The casting call was held at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Nashville. Casting directors were visiting the area as part of an international search to find two actors to portray characters named Rachel and Thomas.

Thousands of people filed through the Sheraton Hotel in hopes of being in the next installment of the franchise film series. Briggs Schneider, one of the many people auditioning, said acting has always been a passion for him.

"It would be the start of something new," said Schneider. "I've been a chef. I've been a server, bartender… I can't give up my original passion of acting. It's going to be so much to me to have this part."

The event was the preliminary meet and greet portion of the casting process. Those chosen will have the chance to audition November 25 and 26.
