MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Prosecutors in Memphis dismissed reckless homicide charges against a FedEx Ground independent contractor involved in a truck-repair accident that killed another worker.

Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich said in a statement Thursday that a review of the case against 30-year-old Angelo Fields of Fort Worth, Texas revealed no criminal responsibility in the death of co-worker Hong Dao on January 25.

Fields, Dao and another man were making repairs on a trailer at a facility in south Memphis before it could be taken on the road. After repairs were made to a brake hose, Fields got in the cab and began pulling forward, but Dao was still repairing a flat tire on the trailer's rear passenger-side.

Dao was crushed by the wheels supporting the second of the tandem trailers.
