One Injured In Montgomery County Crash

Posted: Updated:

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. – One person was injured in a single-car crash in Montgomery County.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash was reported around 3:50 p.m. Sunday afternoon at mile marker 12 on Interstate 24. They said the victim was a 55-year-old woman from Pleasantview, Tennessee.

Troopers said the driver was traveling westbound on I-24 when she somehow veered off the roadway and subsequently overcorrected the steering in an attempt to merge back onto the road. They said the vehicle flipped three times before coming to rest on the interstate.

As a result of the crash, traffic along the interstate was affected. The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the right lane of westbound traffic was briefly blocked while crews worked to clear the roadway.

The victim was transported by Vanderbilt LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

There were no other details immediately available.
