Nashville Man Arrested for Possessing Child Pornography

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -  A disturbing case of child pornography has landed a Nashville man behind bars.

Jeffrey Qualls, 54, was charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after TBI investigators said they linked his home computer to graphic child pornography involving young girls on a file sharing network.

Some of the images involved the girls who appear to be about 7 to 8 years old with adult men.

"Right now it's possession charges, it's having those images on his computer," said TBI Spokesperson Kristin Helm. "We don't have any evidence that his was distributing or manufacturing pornography, but just the mere possession of it makes that child be re-victimized over and over again."

Investigators say Qualls fled to California during the course of the investigation, which began in August.

He waived extradition back to Tennessee. Qualls is expected in court December 9th to face those charges.
