Residents Displaced After Murfreesboro Apartment Fire

Posted: Updated:

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Residents have been displaced after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Rutherford County.

Officials with the Murfreesboro Fire Department said the fire broke out inside the Stones River Apartment Complex, located at 205 Warrior Drive in Murfreesboro. They said crews arrived on the scene around 11:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

Fire crews said although the fire was contained to the kitchen area of one of the apartments, there was smoke damage to at least five other apartments. They said some residents were able to return to their apartments once the smoke had been cleared.

Officials said the residents who were displaced as a result of the fire made arrangements with the manager of the complex to temporarily stay in another apartment.

Investigators said the Fire Marshall's Office was working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
