NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A Davidson County woman said she pretended to be asleep after she awoke to find an intruder beside her bed.

The burglary happened on the 4000 block of Kimbark Drive in Green Hills in Nashville around 2:00 Friday morning.

The victim did not wish to be identified. She said instead of screaming, she pretended to be asleep.

"I was in bed, I heard a noise, and I opened my eyes up and I saw a huge man standing beside my bedroom door," she said. "So as I was thinking ‘who is this, what's going on?' and I put my head down and I pretended to be back to sleep."

The victim's 11-year old was sleeping in the next room, as the thief rummaged through the house for goods.

No one was injured during the robbery, but the intruder made off with personal belongings.

Police said the man walked in through an unlocked door.
