Police: Man Crashes Into Pole, Charged With DUI

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – An Iowa man has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence after police said he crashed his car into a pole.

Officials with the Franklin Police Department said 34-year-old Jacob Allen Crawford of Grinnell, Iowa, was arrested at the Kroger located on Hillsboro Road in Franklin around 3:30 a.m. Monday. They said he has been charged with DUI and Reckless Driving.

Police said the suspect crashed his car into a handicapped parking space pole. They said the vehicle was suspended three feet in the air, on top of the steel sign.

According to investigators, the suspect had been drinking at a nearby bar just before the crash.

The suspect was freed on $2,500 bond. His court date has been set for December 19.
