NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A driver walked away with minor injuries after his car was struck by a train Tuesday morning.

The accident happened in the Old Lock Three Access area on Old Hickory Boulevard around 11:30 a.m.

The driver, who wished to remain unidentified, told NewsChannel 5 he was waiting at a stop sign and trying to see if traffic was coming when he was struck.

"I never heard the horn till the train was, you know, 30 feet away from me. I tried to put it into reverse and I actually ended up putting my car in drive," he said.

Fortunately, the driver suffered only minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
