Officer Stops Man Pushing Shopping Cart Full Of Stolen Goods

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested after a police officer noticed him pushing a shopping cart down the street, and discovered the goods inside it had just been stolen from a nearby apartment.

Police said 18-year-old Anton Rucker admitted to he broke into an apartment at Mission Madison Apartments in the 500 block of Heritage Drive and stole video games, a game system, and a laptop.

The officer who stopped him was in the area responding to a burglary alarm. When the officer initially stopped Rucker, he said he found the shopping car near a dumpster.

Police went to the apartment and spoke with the victim who told them everything that was in that shopping cart belonged to him.

Rucker was charged with burglary. His bond was set at $5,000.
