CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. – Two men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion burglary and sexual assault in Cheatham County.

Authorities arrested 20-year-old Kerry Covington and 25-year-old Antonio Nelson. Both face charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and theft of property.

Police said the pair broke into a home on Eisenhower Drive in the Caldwell estates subdivision on Sunday night while the no one was home. However, a female neighbor went over to borrow an onion to make a meatloaf, and surprised the burglars. Her neighbor had reportedly given her the code to the house.

The men tied her up, and sexually assaulted her. They fled the scene in a stolen Jeep Cherokee with several electronics and a gun.

The Jeep Cherokee was recovered Monday after it was found abandoned on Brunswick Avenue in Nashville.

Covington was booked into the Cheatham County Jail on Thursday night and held without bond.

Nelson was being held in the Metro-Davidson Jail in Nashville on charges unrelated to the burglary and assault. Both men are from Davidson County.
