NASHVILLE, Tenn – Police said they are looking to identify any possible suspects who were responsible for two explosions in a neighborhood in North Nashville.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the two explosions happened minutes apart from one another Friday afternoon.

Sharon Swetman said she was sitting in her house on Marydale Drive around 2 p.m., Friday when she heard an explosion in her front yard.

"I just know it scared me to death," Swetman said. "I never expected to see my yard burning."

Swetman said her neighbor saw someone throw a device out of a car window right before the explosion.

While the Metro Bomb Squad was investigating, another explosion happened around 2:30pm on Oxbow Drive blocks from the first explosion.

Police said the second explosion were fireworks inside Dan Clemmons' brick mailbox.

Clemmons said his neighborhood takes crime very seriously.

"We've already alerted other neighbors that this kind of thing is happening," he said. "We just want to do what we can to prevent it from happening to anybody else."

Nobody was hurt in the explosions.

Metro Police Spokesperson Kris Mumford said officers are investigating.

Anyone with information was urged to call Metro Police.
