Family Left Homeless By Fire Still Searching for New Home

CHARLOTTE, Tenn. – A Dickson County family whose home was destroyed by a fire nearly one weeks ago, is still searching for a new place to live.

The Muncey family has been staying in motels and friends' houses since their wood stove somehow started an out of control fire inside their Charlotte home a week ago.

Everything was destroyed in the fire, including Christmas presents and all their kids' belongings.

No one was hurt during the blaze, but the family said they're spending each day unsure of where their future will take them.

"It's like we're in a dream that we can't wake up from, and the scariest part is not knowing what's going to happen," said Kelly Muncey.

Muncey said she's just grateful her family was not harmed during the fire.

"All this can eventually be replaced but we can't replace each other," she said.

To contribute to a fund to help the Muncey family rebuild, you can visit any First Tennessee Bank to make a donation to "Kelly and Ronnie Muncey and Family."
