Tanker Fire Leads To Crash, Foot Chase, Fist Fight

Posted: Updated:

LA VERGNE, Tenn. - A big rig fire on the interstate led to a wild scene, including a foot chase and a fist fight between two drivers who weren't even involved.

The tanker truck caught fire due to a fuel leak around 1 a.m. Monday on Interstate 24 east near the Waldron Road exit in La Vergne.

The driver tried to make it to a nearby truck stop, but was unsuccessful. He was not injured.

The fire was put out quickly, but when traffic slowed dow, one driver rear-ended one another vehicle.

He decided to ditch the car and run off, but the driver he rear-ended ran him down and started beating him up.

No word on why the driver ran off, or if the men will face any charges.
