Man Wanted For Allegedly Opening Fire During Chase

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A 29-year-old man is wanted for allegedly opening fire on police during a high speed chase early Tuesday morning.

Police said they were called to the Best Value Inn along Rivergate Parkway for reports of a man with a gun around 4 a.m.. As officers arrived, they spotted Deangelo Foxx driving away. 

Attempts to stop his vehicle were refused, and officers said he fired shots through his back window. No one was hurt. 

The chase led police into east Nashville, where the Foxx led them around the neighborhood before crashing the vehicle on Carter Avenue, near Porter Road around 5 a.m.

Foxx fled the scene on foot, and Metro Police brought out a K-9 unit and their helicopter to search the immediate area. The search was later suspended.

Foxx is wanted currently on three felony warrants and one misdemeanor. Police said he has numerous prior arrests.
