NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Council members have introduced legislation that would allow Nashville grocery and convenience stores to start selling beer at 10 a.m. on Sundays.

The legislation introduced by Buddy Baker and Doug Pardue would allow grocery and convenience stores to start selling beer earlier than noon.

Sponsors said the change should be made because restaurants as well as LP Field already sell beer at 10 a.m. on Sundays.

Jarron Springer, the President of the Tennessee Grocers and Convenience store association, he didn't even know about this legislation.

The legislation will be discussed at Tuesday night's Metro Council meeting.
