School Officials In Rutherford County Investigating Cyber Bullying

Posted: Updated:

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. - Rutherford County School leaders were working to determine whether a student could be behind a new case of cyber bullying.

District officials said someone created an Instagram account with photos of female students that invites others to make degrading comments about them.

They said access to Instagram on campus is not allowed and the account violates their zero tolerance policy at school.

If they're able to connect it to a student, that person could face expulsion or criminal charges.

School officials are asking parents to help them by talking to their kids about their behavior and letting school officials know if their child has been targeted.
