I-65 South Collision Delays Traffic For Hours Near Brentwood

Posted: Updated:

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Traffic in Williamson County was delayed for several hours Tuesday night after a collision involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 65 South.

Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the wreck occurred just before 6 p.m. between Moore's Lane and Concord Road in Brentwood.

Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the crash appeared to be the result of a chain reaction crash, which started with traffic backing up the Moores Lane exit. They said a car rear-ended the one on front of it, causing several cars to hit each other. One car swerved to the left and struck the front right wheel of the semi truck.

Troopers said the truck lost control and hit two other cars before running off of the road and rolling several times.

Troopers said no one was seriosuly hurt in the crash.

The roadway did not fully reopen until 2 a.m. Wednesday.
