Missing 12-Year-Old Girl Found Safe In Madison

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro Nashville Police said they have found the 12-year-old girl reported missing Tuesday by her parents.

Dajevonne Carriere was found in Madison Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. She was found at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Douglas Avenue. She was not in any danger and police believe she ran away after getting in trouble Tuesday at Madison Middle School.

Carriere was caught with her cellphone earlier in the day causing a teacher to take it from her.  The girl mentioned she was going to be in trouble at home and was going to run away.

Students told police after school Tuesday that Carriere did not get on the bus she normally rides but instead was seen walking away from the school. Carriere's parents called police to report the girl missing around 6:20 p.m.
