No Holiday Break For Real Estate Agents, Brokers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - All year long we've heard about Nashville's booming real estate market, but agents and brokers said the holidays are supposed to be the slow time of year for sales and rentals.

Several Metro realtors and property managers said that is definitely not the case.

Joe Rutter is the managing broker for Nashville Property Management Pros. He said he is just as busy as during the so-called busy season. That busy season is expected to start up again in about a month.

Metro real estate agents said it is still a seller's market even though sales are slowing a bit.

Rutter said if you can swing it, hanging onto your property and turning it into a rental is the thing to do.

"I've even got people who are already calling asking what we've got coming available in the spring that's not even listed yet," he said. "They're just hoping they'll get some kind of idea of what's going on."

Experts said the growth in home sales may be slowing headed into the new year - but that's slowing from a growth of nearly 20 percent in 2013.
